CCC Contributions to the Chesapeake and Ohio National Historic Park
Company 325C, Camp NP-1-MD & Company 333C, Camp NP-2-MD, Carderock, Maryland
The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park was a part of the CCC history. Camp NP-1-Md. was occupied by Company 325, and NP-2-Md. was occupied by Company 333. Both of these companies were made up of African American enrollees. They worked on restoring the first 22 miles of the C&O Canal from 1938 until early 1942. The camps were located near Carderock, Maryland.
I have done a fair amount of research on these camps and would be happy to serve as a point of contact for anyone searching for information about these camps.
