Company 1295, Camp MC-54
A Mosquito Control Camp first formed on July 10, 1935. The men of this camp engaged primarily in the draining of swampland near Dover Delaware. Mosquito control provided a protection to the many diseases born by that insect. The men of this camp would go into Machias to visit the small barber shop which was still there when last visited by my family. The second CCC camp of James F. Justin. The men of this camp would travel to Wilmington Delaware and the Vaudeville shows of Philadelphia from time to time for recreation.
