Biography of Fletcher William Donaldson
2nd Lt., CCC Staff, Co 2586, Camp Thornwood, F-6-WV, Durbin, WV & Co 2048 (?), Camp White Rock, Seneca Rock, WV & 1522, Camp Clifftop, SP-3, Onega, WV & Co 532 in Camp SP-6, US Army
My Father, Fletcher William Donaldson, was a second lieutenant in the United States Army and served as a staff officer with the Civilian Conservation Corps at four camps. He was second in command of Company 2586, Camp Thornwood, F-6-WV, near Durbin, West Virginia. He was also second in command of Company 2048 (?), Camp White Rock, near Seneca Rock, West Virginia. He served in the same capacity with Company 1522, Camp Clifftop, SP-3-WV, near Onega West Virginia. He also second in command with Company 532 in Camp SP-6. He indicated to me that his home division was based in Columbus, Ohio.
We are looking for information about them so please tell us of any information or resources where we can possibly find information about these camps, insignia and so on.
