Merchant Marine
Did you know that members of the Merchant Marine could no be admitted to the USO, or other service clubs, including the American Red Cross. There were a few Seaman Clubs located in larger ports, which we were allowed to use, these were not operated by the government. We were not allowed to attend the celebrity shows given overseas.
