Biography of Stephen Nick Krenytzky
Col., USAAF/USAF
My dad , Stephen Nick Krenytzky, was a career military officer who served proudly in the USAAC and then later in the USAF from 1940 to 1966 and retired a full colonel. The name is Ukrainian and comes from the original Ukrainian KRYNICKI. It is pronounced KREN-ITS-KEY. plane at that age. He was one great man. He flew P-38's on photo-reconn missions while stationed in the Aleutian Islands from 1941 to 1943. He was awarded the Air Medal in 1943.
His P38 was named "Shirley" for Shirley Mae Eansor Krenytzky. He and Shirley, the lady, were married.
