Biography of Claude William Potts

CCCman c.1937-38, Company 3888, F-61-C, Fort Collins, CO

My father, Claude William Potts, possibly originally from Houston, Texas was in the CCC's in 1937. He was part of Company 3888, F-61-C and stationed in Fort Collins, Colorado. The F means they did Forestry work.  In December of 1937 and January or 1938 he was in the Station Hospital at Fort Logan, Colo. so I assume he had been injured. He was supposed to have been released from the Hospital approximately Jan. 20, 1938.

I know that they went into town (Fort Collins) whenever they could. My mom worked in a small cafe in town, I think that is where they met. Groups of them went on picnics. I have a couple snapshots taken in the area at the time.
