Biography of William Henry Sullivan

CCC Man, Camp 9, Priest River, Idaho & Leadmine, West Virginia

          My father was located in Priest River Idaho. His name was William Henry Sullivan. His brother George and friend Bill Wissell were also located there. The members of this camp located on Priest Lake spent their days building fire and logging roads, and creating fire breaks. My father spent a lot of time driving the colonel around the area.

         As a kid we used to visit family members in Priest River and camp at the old camp - we referred to it as old camp 9. 30 years ago the barracks still stood on the shore of Priest Lake.

         During his tour there he met my mother, when his tour was over he brought her back to Cleveland Ohio and married her. This was his second camp he worked at. The first one was somewhere around Leadmine, West Virginia.

        My dad, George and Bill are long gone now. But I'm glad there is a site like this that keeps their accomplishments alive.
