Bristol Beaufighter prang at Kai-Tak Hong Kong
This one was pulled off by a good Pal of mine, Reg Harding, 45 Sqdn. 1949. Reg set off, on his own, to do an air test, as he was going down the runway at Hong Kong and just after lift off, one engine cut!! All he could do was to plonk it down on the runway and go straight through a low wall at the end and into the harbour. He was out on the wing before it sank and into a nearby boat hardly getting his feet wet, LoL. Most of the damage you can see was caused by the grappling hooks of the vessel.
