One of Jim's favorite places was the Cape May Lighthouse Bird Sanctuary where a small seaside sanctuary provided a nice place to take his wife for a peaceful walk. There they observed many birds. Jim would always keep a spyglass in the car for this purpose. These sea birds and others found their way into some of Jim's paintings where they are depicted as graceful and serene.
The animal depictions below depict those images currently scanned in by the curator. Being scanned images rather than photographs the color is not exact in all cases, however they do convey a good representation of the piece.
