On Trailer

27 Air School, Miles Master Recovery, Dewetsdorp, Orange Free State of South Africa

Circa. 1942-43

The Master has been lifted on to the trailer, sand bags are placed beneath the centre section and fuselage to prevent damage to the plywood skin. Note the changed angle of the sheer legs to get sufficent height to place the 'plane on the trailer, all the crew will be helping at this time with the only instructions coming from "Jock" Brown. It is of interest that the only photo you did not use in that block of six ( 2,3,5,6,7) is one where the difficult task of rotating the 'plane has just been completed, the under gear has been manually retracted to make it easier to do this rotation and will be left in this position until unloaded at 27A/S, note the angle of the sheerlegs so that the centre section can move in between the legs, the onlookers in the fore ground are local native inhabitants of the area.
