Biography of E. A. Blackman

Enrollee, Unknown Company, Unknown Camp, Bowling Green, Missouri

Sailor, USN

I was in the CCC in 1939 & 1940 at a camp in Bowling Green, Missouri. I don't remember the Company number or anything else about the service. All I know is it helped me get through 16 months of poverty and set me on the way to a pretty good life. After that period of time, I went on to join the Navy and then to college where I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am now retired (have been for 20 years). I credit the CCC with giving me the start to a successful life.
