Biography of John Lawson
CCCMan, Company 1807, Saratoga, Wyoming & Eureka, Utah
My name is John Lawson I am 82 years old. When I was 16 years old I left my home in Rocks Springs Wyo. to serve in the CCC Camps. The camp was in Saratoga, Wyo. The camp number was 1807, and we had the job of building rearing ponds for the fish hatchery, and building shelter houses for stranded travelers. We also built foot bridges over the North Platte River that ran thru Saratoga. We did this so the visitors could cross the river to the shelter house.
After 1 year I left and went to Eureka, Utah to another camp, the number of I do not recall. We were cutting cedar poles to build stock yards for holding sheep for shearing.
