Biography of Lawrence C. Peterson
CCC Man, Company 548, Camp F-145, Big Tujunga Canyon, California
In 1934 my brother Lawrence C. Peterson graduated from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Indiana. In October 1934, he was a CCC enrollee on his way to Big Tujunga Canyon in California. He spent 6 months there. The job was to build a 200 foot wide fire break around the Los Angeles Area. The fire break consisted of 2 ridges with a ditch in the middle of the ridges. In that middle ditch they planted mustard seed.
