Biography of Minnie Schreiner
CCC Man, Company 754, Humbolt, NE
I collect trench art, and recently acquired a WWI canteen that was engraved by its CCC owner. It reads – “CCC Co. 754 Minnie Schreiner Nov 4, 1933 to Jan 1, 1935 Rating (a star with 4 bars below it) CMP Kinney Camp Ark Camp Richardson.
Any information about his company, camp or service would be appreciated.
Curator's note. CCC Company 754 in 1934 was in Humbolt, NE, in Richardson County. Presumably at least one of these three camp names (Camp Kinney, Camp Ark, and Camp Richarhson) was that camp. Its possible Mr. Schreiner's company moved between these camps, or one or more may have been side or spike camps he worked at from the main camp. But this is speculation. So too is his first name. Minnie as a man's name is usually a nick name, so his real name may be something else altogether.
