HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

AN INTRODUCTION

The History of the American Revolution is a tale of great import to all free men and all who would be free.  It is a tale which contains insight into the workings of tyrants, and how such tyrants may be overthrown by people with the will and means to do so.  The story also illustrates the difference between cultures of independence and  forward thought and those of hidebound traditionalism , fear and stagnation, the difference between a truly free people and the illusion of freedom. Every free nation owes to the patriots of 1776 the inspiration of a successful democratic revolution which avoided all the pitfalls of revolution, including the handing of authority from the old tyrant to a new, be it an overly strong central government bureaucracy or a military dictatorial regime.  Most importantly, the seeds of our own freedom lie in this tale, the lessons of how it was won, how to maintain it and how, if we are not careful, we can lose it for our children and grandchildren.  To avoid that all too real pitfall, each American, and each person interested in true democratic freedoms, should study this History and learn its lessons well, for they are not just history but signposts to the future as well.

The History of the American Revolution contained herein will consist of a discussion of the origins of the American Colonies, the forming of their own culture and their eventual dissolution with England.  Then there will be a historical description of the men of the revolution and the battles which decided whether the colonies would be free or remain under the English Crown.  Finally there will be a discussion of the forming of the American Government and the United States Constitution.  Each chapter is represented by a link below. Also a synopsis will summarize these great events for those without time for full study. Click on, learn and enjoy.
