Rattle Snake Cage
Company 353, Camp S-53, Brookville, Pa
The last issue of my home town paper, The Jeffersonian Democrat, Brookville, Pa. ran a special feature on the CCC in that area. This was Company 353, Camp S-53, in 1933. I remember their activities although I was only 8 or 9 at the time (1933). So much of their construction remains - it was very solidly built. I suppose the thing I remember best is that they always had a rattle snake in a cage and we could tap the screen on top and (almost) see the snake strike. Their main activity in that area was at Clear Creek park.
