Interior Vogel State Park CCC Museum
More CCC Tools, Showing Fire Beater, Sledge Hammer, Axe, Brace and Bit, Mattock and Shovel.
Located near Blairsville, Georgia in the North Georgia Mountains. Note the Two Windmills on top of the Museum. They are whirly gigs, one has two CCC boys operating a two man cross cut saw. The other shows a CCC boy with a rock hammer crushing rock.
Vogel was built by the CCC. We have an annual reunion of the "Boys". The next one will be held on May 8, 1999. Anyone is welcome. We have representation from GA, NC, TN, FL. It is a small gathering of about 50 men and their wives or girl friends and families. We lose a few each year and then a few find us for the first time. It is great fun to hear their stories. We have a small museum located on the park. There are tools, uniforms, photographs and stories. It is very well received by all ages.
