Biography of Paul Swancara

CCCman, Co. 212, Camp SP-11, Laurens, NY

USAAF, WWII

        My brother, Paul Swancara, was a member of CCC Company 212, Camp SP-11 at Laurens- New York  He and apparently many others manufactured plaques of wood then etched their many names on the boards with a wood burning set, then shellacked the boards. Unfortunatly, no dates of any kind. Several nice etched drawings like CCC patch -Liberty Bell - Statue of Liberty. etc. the 2 placques are about 12x10, in excellent Condition. Most names with addresses, are legible, including

John C. Ryan ==C.C.C Sup.

Louis Arden ==company Commander

Senior Leader== Ray H. Snedeker of Ilion, N.Y.

       Dozens of other names and addresses from all over N.Y. PA. etc,. My brother was from Little Falls New York. He entered the Army Air Force in 1939 or 40. I followed him into the USAF later. He has passed away.  He died of Enphazema (army VA doctors said). I really feel now that it was Valley Fever from his assignment at March AFB in edge of Mojave Desert.

       I would like to donate these plaques to a Museum which is dedicated to CCC memoribilia, is anyone interested?
