Biography of Emanuel Anton Wetzstein
CCCman c.1937, Company 2775 V
My father, Emanuel Anton Wetzstein (VCC7-276427), was in Co. 2775 V of the CCC from April 19, 1937, to September 27, 1937, when he was administratively discharged under Par. 28b-38 b (1) f (2) WD-CCC Regulations (Unwilling to abide by the rules and regulations of the CCC). I have no idea what the exact circumstances were which led to the discharge. (Co. 2775 V was made up of WWI veterans.)
Emanuel Anton Wetzstein enlisted in the United States Army June 27, 1918, at Mandan, N.D., as a private and, after training at Camp Dodge, Iowa, was assigned to Headquarters Co. 339th Field Artillery Cas. Det #57 -163rd D.B. He served overseas from August 24, 1918, to Jan 28, 1919, and was honorably discharged June 29, 1918.
Emanuel Anton Wetzstein was born in Odessa, Russia (the current Ukraine), February 22, 1895, immigrated to the U.S. about 1906, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He died at Mandan May 25, 1957, and is buried at Mandan Union Cemetery.
