James F. Justin Collection
Cape May Room
The Art of James Justin often revolved around the sights and scenes and emotions found at the favorite places to which he travelled. Although he loved the shore and the sea, living on the shore for many years, his most favorite coastal setting was Cape May, New Jersey and its environs. He woud frequently travel there during work, or with his wife, his family or sometimes alone. Jim's love of the ocean found its way into many of his paintings, wherein the vibrant serentiy he would find at the shore conveyed in natural scenes depicted in vivid colors or bold strokes.
The seascapes below depict those images currently scanned in by the curator. Being scanned images rather than photographs the color is not exact in all cases, however they do convey a good representation of the piece.
