Merry Christmas
From the hot sands of the desert in Africa to the Winter mts. of Italy. I spent my first X-mas overseas in africa in probably ninety degree weather. Had been pulled back in reserve so had a good dinner, some mail caught up with us. the second was spent on the line in my fox hole near Naples eating cold hash. "Merry Christmas" It was impossible to get hot food to us since the Germans were on Mt. Cassino at the Abbey looking right down our throats.
