Company 855 - Camp Doniphan El Paso, Texas
From the Caption, the Camp Officers were Capt. E.M. Burnett, Com 'D' G (commanding) -- Capt. H. G. Olmsted - 1st Lt. W. Reardon - Maj. G.D. France M.O. (Medical Officer). Also from notes the 13th man from left in back row standing is Donald L. Swafford.
Another interesting feature of the photo is the tent structures. These men must have been new to this camp and the camp under construction. Also interesting are the Black members in the photo (carefully separated from rest). Black and White CCC men did not serve in the same companies per U.S. Military procedures of time. These men, I would presume, were some sort of staff laborers or technicians. But I can not be sure.
