Biography of Alvin Anderson
Soldier, 112th infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division, US Army
My grandpa was Alvin Anderson from Auburn, N.Y.. He enlisted in 1942 and fought with the 112th infantry Regiment of the 28th Infantry Division, nicknamed the Bloody Bucket. . He was wounded on Sept. 8, 1944 around the Belgium border. My grandpa never talked about the war much, but I do have him on tape one time talking about it. Like many soldiers he went back after he was "patched up". He was honorably discharged in the fall of 1945.
Any information about his service or his unit would be appreciated.
