SP-4, A Battery, 5th Battalion, 77th Artillery, Camp Pieri, Wiesbaden, Germany

My name is Francis Douglas Bess, Jr. I go by Doug. The unit I was in was A Battery 5th Battalion 77th Field Artillery. The building I was in housed HQ Battery and A Battery. I did TDY in Oberammergau for three weeks in 1971. Also had the opportunity to see the East German border courtesy of our Army unit. I was at Camp Pieri from December, 1970 to March, 1972. My rank when I left was SP4.
