Company 1369, Camp BR-69, Malta, Montana, Campnewspaper, Barracks City News

Vol 3, Number 31, 12/14/1940 and Number 33, 12/28/1940

CCC Camps often produced their own newsletter in the form of a small newspaper that told the news of the camp, and related items of interest from national news and the national CCC publication Happy Days. In the style of a high school newspaper, being addressed by young men to their 200 or so comrades in the camp, they often contained little tidbits and insights about camp life that are quite interesting.

This newspaper was called the Barracks City News, reflecting that the camp's inhabitants live in barracks, usually four or five of them in a camp holding fifty men each. This is two examples of that newspaper, I do not have more. But it would seem to be at least three volumes of the paper were printed, and in this volume, 33 issues were printed.
