Biography of Robert Garner Packer
(1925 - 1990)
CM3/c, USS Currituck, Aleutian Islands, Dutch Harbor, USN
Robert Garner Packer was born on September 3, 1925 in Bard California. He joined the US Navy during W.W.II and was a Carpenters Mate Third Class 1943 to 1946.
He served in the Aleutian Islands, Dutch Harbor Alaska and was onboard the Heavy Seaplane Tender USS Currituck AV-7. He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign and the W.W.II Victory Medal.
After the war he was an Electrician in the IBEW and retired in Anaheim CA. in 1987.
He passed away in Dec. of 1990 and is survived by his three sons Robert A. Packer, Phillip R. Packer and Gregory S. Packer.
