Biography of Howard Sabel

Enrollee, Unknown Company, Camp Wayne, Camp SCS-25, Beatrice, Neb. & Winside, Nebraska

Marine, 22nd Marines, USMC WWII

   I joined the C.C.C. in 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska. I was sent to Beatrice, Nebraska. Later on we moved the camp to Winside, Nebraska. I was in Camp Wayne, SCS No. 25.

   When WW2 broke out I enlisted in the Marine Corps. I was in the 22nd Marines when it was formed in 1942. I was in F Company. The 22nd Marines was formed in Linda Vista, California. I was in 3 K 6 at Camp Elliot before that.

   I went to Apia, Samoa first. I was also on Guam and at Singtoa, China. I served 4 years.
