Biography of Frederick James Hubert
CCC Man, Company 1380 Camp S-118, Huntley PA
My father, Frederick James Hubert was in the PA CCC. He helped build the mess hall before the camp opened. I have his company picture marked: Company 1380 Camp S-118 August 18, 1933 Huntley PA. It was taken by Trimberg studios.
The camp is listed on the CCC Alumni site as having opened 6/11/1933.Also on their site is a photo marked "possible S-118 men on truck". I believe one of the men is the same as one shown in my father's company photo.
Before his death in 1992, he donated funds toward a memorial at the site, but never got to see it.
I compiled a genealogy for Dad's grandchildren & great grandchildren so they would know the tremendous impact the CCC had on America and its forests.
Any information about his company, camp, service or alumni group would be appreciated.
----- R. Hubert
