Biography of Lucian Layne
Enrollee, Company 793, Camp Sharden, Hill City, South Dakota
I could write a book about my time in the CCC, of which I am very proud. I was at Camp Sharden 793 Hill City, S.D. 1940. We built Sharden Lake, Boat Ramps, and set out a forest of pine seedlings.
I had the pleasure of visiting there in 1986 and 1996. In 1996 there was a real nice plaque. It told the history of Camp Sharden, and the enrollment of the Camp of which I am proud in that November.
