Biography of Leon H. Valley
CCC Man, Mt. Tom, Holyoke, MA
My father, Leon H. Valley, shortly after his 1936 high school graduation in Lancaster, Mass., spent two years and three months in the CCC camp at Mt. Tom/Holyoke, Mass. It was one of the great memories of his long life. Afterward he enlisted in the Navy for WWII, then built submarines in Portsmouth, NH for about four decades.
