Captain David H. Passell

Finance Reserve

District Finance Officer

 

          Captain Passell was born in Thomas County, Kansas, 1897. He taught the rural school system of Kansas until 1916 when he entered Lawrence College. In 1917, he enlisted in the Medical Corps, U.S. Army, and served with Base Hospital No. 11, overseas. After the war, he went into the insurance business in Chicago. He was commissioned First Lieutenant, Finance Reserve, in 1924, and promoted to Captain in 1931. He was ordered to active duty with the CCC as assistant to the Finance Officer, U.S. Army, Chicago, Illinois. In March, 1935, he was transferred to Sparta, Wisconsin, and has been the accountable disbursing officer for the Sparta CCC District since its inception.
