Biography of George H. Bayersdorfer
CCC Man, Unknown Company
Soldier, WWII
My father fought in WWII. My mother never offered any specifics about his time served other than "he was never the same when he returned from war" I believe my father spent time at a CCC camp but to date I have not been able to confirm where. See annexed pic's which I believe were taken at the camp. George H. Bayersdorfer was his name.
Any information about his company, camp or service would be appreciated.
Curator's note, this story and photographs included an article about Camp Ten Mile River in Sullivan County, near Narrowsburg, New York. That would seem to be the camp Mr. Bayersdorf worked at. Ten Mile River is a winding and narrow wooded river that in satellite images has rocks very much like those he is sitting on in the one photograph.
